The Billabong Women’s much anticipated ‘Speed Wave’ collection (shot in idyllic Kauai) has just landed in-store.

For their Spring 18 Campaign, Billabong travelled to the birth place of surfing…Hawaii to shoot the collection on German based model Maya Stepper as well as athletes Flick Palmateer and Pacha Light.

They stayed in picturesque Hanalei Bay on the Garden Island, Kauai.  Hanalei is a quaint town at the base of towering mountains where waterfalls cascade down the ridges.  The palm tree lined bay is home to some famous surf breaks including Pine Trees where the ‘Iron Brothers Pines Tree Classic’ is held each year.   The team explored the North Shore of Kauai stopping at all the coves and beaches finding some true gems amongst the jungle.  The girls swam, ate endless Poke Bowls & salads from the food trucks and drank fresh island juices.  It wouldn’t be a Hanalei experience without a stop at a ‘Wish Well Shave Ice’ which they visited on their last day of the shoot.  The cruisy, down to earth vibe of the town is home to some of Billabong’s long-time surfers including Donavan Frankenreiter who they were lucky enough to see perform at a super intimate gig at Hanalei Strings, a quirky little Ukulele store in town.

The collection features a strong palette of black, red and denim, Billabong overturn the old school with a fresh take on Hawaiian style florals in the perfect sunset shade. With vintage look logo’s as a key call out, Billabong make a play for new signature sugary reds. Stripes are still key and killer in monochrome Mai Tai shades.

Billabong Women’s are inspired by each new island adventure where they feel incredibly blessed and grateful to live they life they do…

A Bikini Kinda Life…join them this season in continuing to live your dreams.

The ‘Speed Wave’ collection is available online and at selected retailers nationally.  Delivery months for the collection are July, August and September.
