Stephanie Hendrickson – Women’s Marketing Manager APAC, Billabong
Steph Hendrickson has worked in the action sports industry for more than 20 years, with 16 of those being at Billabong. Before her Billabong days Steph was the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager at Mt Buller. After a number of years splitting her time between Mt Buller and Beaver Creek, Colorado, Steph moved with her now husband Mac to the Gold Coast. Steph has two boys Micah, 11, and Noah 12 and has lived and worked in the beautiful Burleigh Heads, home of Billabong. Steph has held a variety of Marketing roles during her time at Billabong and is currently Women’s Marketing Manager for APAC. In between a busy work schedule Steph and her family love to travel and have most recently spent a few weeks in Japan snowboarding.
Peta Fielding – CEO & Director, Burleigh Brewing Company
Peta Fielding is the CEO and Director of Burleigh Brewing Company, which she co-founded with her master brewer husband, Brennan Fielding, in 2006. After being awarded the inaugural Bond University Law School Scholarship, Peta practised law at Arthur Robinson and Hedderwicks in Melbourne from 1993-1996. She then worked for two years in Japan with the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games Organising Committee in a variety of areas including team liaison, technology, broadcast, volunteer recruitment and training. Following the Games until 2001, Peta was the Assistant to the Consul-General at the Australian Consulate General in Hawaii. Since 2006 Peta has successfully steered Burleigh Brewing Company’s fortunes through testing economic cycles. She directed the business establishment, finances and operations and continues to manage the company’s unique product and brand development. Peta is passionate about the Gold Coast and actively pursues opportunities for Burleigh Brewing to engage with the local community – residents and visitors alike.
CJ – CEO & Director, Major Freedom
During her 21 year career as an Army Officer, Cherisa held many different leadership, logistics, administrative and training positions in Australia and overseas. After discharging from the Australian Army and drawing on her military experiences and her strong passion to help others, Cherisa created Major Freedom, a business designed to teach organisations and families how to use military systems, frameworks and good old fashioned discipline to become more organised. By being disciplined, you become more organised, when you are organised, you are more likely to be proactive and not reactive, giving you more time to enjoy the ‘good things in life’. For Cherisa, the ‘good things in life’ involves hanging with her daughters and lots of surfing. She is an active member of theAssociation of Veteran Surfers, to keep the military connection alive, hosts One Wave’s, Super Fluro Saturday Greenmount every Saturday morning in order to raise awareness for mental health and tries to meet up with local surf girl group The Surf Witches as often as possible, because nothing beats surfing with a bunch of women who are encouraging and supportive of each other and just want to have fun!
Gabby Bate – Head of Mens, Womens and Kids Apparel, Surfstitch
Gabby Bate has an impressive career behind her, working in the retail industry for over 20 years, and more specifically the Surf Industry for 15 years. Gabby’s roles have varied throughout her career, spanning across all sectors of Buying and Planning in Menswear and Womenswear, with a focus on key strategies to improve, streamline and achieve top line sales. Gabby is currently the Head of Mens, Womens and Kids Apparel for Surstitch, Australia’s largest e-commerce platform. Prior to this Gabby was in one of her most important roles to date, CEO of a household with four children. This role saw her in a variety of positions, including but not limited to, judge, family therapist, finance manager, reverse psychologist, nutritionist, health specialist, logistics manager and chief negotiator.
Laura Enever – Professional Athlete
Laura Enever is a fearless big wave charger, and former Women’s World Junior Champion. This North Sydney native does it all with a fun, light hearted, give it a go personality. With results to show that she is one of the world’s best female surfers, having been on the World Tour for 7 years, Laura has also made a name for herself showing a fearless approach in big waves and waves of consequence, making her one of the most exciting and influential female surfers of this time. Enever spent months training her body to better withstand the punishment of big swells at Jaws and Mavericks, and training her mind to remain calm and quiet when things go wrong. “Undone,” a surf film documentary in-the-making, chronicles her journey to big-wave stardom.
