Age may be just a number, but a milestone anniversary for Santa Cruz Skateboards is definitely worth celebrating. Nixon and Santa Cruz joined forces on a limited-edition collection of three distinct timepieces coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Santa Cruz Skateboards. The Nixon x Santa Cruz collection transposes iconic Santa Cruz graphics and logos by acclaimed artist, Jim Phillips, from their typical placement on skateboards and stickers, to some of Nixon’s most popular timepieces.

The Santa Cruz Corporal Stainless Steel ($330) leads the collection featuring an enhanced rendition of the famous Roskopp Face, heralded as one of the most iconic skateboard graphics of all time. To add to the graphic’s distinctiveness, lum accents are placed in the face’s eyes and teeth, which will glow for hours in the dark after exposure to sunlight. Closer inspection reveals an intricacy in the artwork that mimics the wood grain texture of a skateboard deck, drawing further correlation to its original place in history. An oversized bezel and recessed crystal protect the watch’s face while showcasing its rugged durability. With a 48mm case and 10 ATM waterproof rating, this solid stainless steel field watch stands out as much as Roskopp’s skating did in the 80s.

The combined style and affordability of Nixon’s Time Teller collection continues to make it a go-to piece for Nixon’s brand collabs, which holds true for this collection with Santa Cruz. The new Nixon x Santa Cruz Skateboards collection includes two distinct versions of the Time Teller series, with the Santa Cruz Strip logo and legendary Screaming Hand graphic as their focal points.

The classic Santa Cruz Strip logo has been incorporated into a black and silver version of the Time Teller, transcending the entire length of the performance watchband and through the face of the watch. The Screaming Hand logo is integrated into the end of the seconds hand, a reminder that time moves fast.

The Santa Cruz Screaming Hand graphic is front-and-centre on the face of the Time Teller OPP, a recent addition to the Nixon Time Teller family of watches. Time Teller OPP, the latest in Nixon’s Other People’s Plastics (aka OPP) collection, is a series of watches, bags, and accessories made from reclaimed plastics that otherwise would have wound up in landfills or the Earth’s oceans. The Screaming Hand Time Teller OPP features a reflective prismatic finish on the hand, a treatment that Santa Cruz frequently incorporates in the graphics of its skateboard decks and stickers. The watch’s case and band have a speckled white concrete design, correlating to the landscape of choice for many skateboarders worldwide.

The Nixon Santa Cruz Time Teller ($200) and Nixon Santa Cruz Time Teller OPP ($200) both feature a 10 ATM water rating, a 39.5mm case, and a 20mm band with quick-release spring bars for easy customisation.
