Founder, John Malloy, pioneered urethane as the ‘ultimate cord’ material and invented the double-bearing stainless steel swivel that won’t seize up in saltwater. Both breakthroughs remain the industry standard globally to this day.

Creatures’ specially developed DIAMOND TECH boardcover fabric leads the industry for durability. Their Square Loc traction pattern has helped win more world titles than any other (Mick x 3, Steph x 7 & Italo x 1 = 11 and counting). Their DNA Flex Mould also solved the age-old problem of leashes breaking where the cord meets the swivel.
John has since passed the torch to a new generation, but every design is still tested by staff and the world’s best surfers, both in the powerful Indian Ocean where Creatures is based and other unforgiving locations around the globe.
